LEXINGTON, Ky. — Padre Paul Handelman, a Texas-based singer-songwriter and former infantry officer in the U.S. Army’s 82nd Airborne Division and 2nd Ranger Battalion, joined me this week for episode 93 of Wick’s Picks on RadioLEX.

Handelman discussed the new album he’s recording in Whitesburg, Ky., along with what led him back to playing music after years without it while serving the country and how the great outdoors inspire him music.

Additionally, Handelman performed two originals––”Heart in the Heartland” and “Slow Dance”––live in studio. Other music comes from Good Morning Bedlam, The Steeldrivers, Lucero and Joslyn & The Sweet Compression, among others.

Wick’s Picks will return to RadioLEX on Feb. 18 from 5-7 p.m. with special singer-songwriter Rebecca Rego and Justin Ringle and J. Tom Hnatow of Horse Feathers. Listen in on the dial at 93.9 FM or stream at RadioLEX.us.
