PRESTONSBURG, Ky. —Eastern Kentucky wordsmith Nicholas Jamerson today shares “Perspective,” the artist’s first new music since dropping his Floyd County All-Star EP in the spring.

The soul and pop-tinged tune sees Jamerson take an introspective look at reality and how each individual’s perception of it is shaped by their past life experiences before going on to chirp throughout the song’s chorus about the “perspective” and attitude one takes toward their life circumstances and how – good and bad – they’re all a part of what makes you you and that a positive outlook is the first step to overcoming adversity life throws your way.

The song’s warm, uplifting vibe is enhanced by Jamerson’s heavenly harmonies meshing with back-up vocalists’ Coleman Saunders and Emily Irene during the organ-fueled chorus of “I don’t know if I’m slipping or I’m sliding / if I’m reeling or if I am rising / if I’m healing or I’m dying / but either way I’m fighting / ’cause there ain’t no hiding.”

Joining Jamerson on the recording are Arlando Lee (drums), Darius Byers (Rhodes piano, organ, percussion), Matt Wiles (bass), Coleman Saunders (back-up vocals), Grant Benzinger (lead guitar), Jack Steiner (engineer, production, mastering, piano 2, acoustic guitar, rhythm electric guitar) and Emily Irene (background vocals).

Listen to “Perspective” below.

Jamerson is no stranger to success. Prior to breaking off as a solo artist he was one half of pop-country duo Sundy Best, which had music videos of theirs in rotation on CMT along with appearing at the TV Network’s annual awards show in 2013 and a series of performances at the Grand Ole Opry before the group parted ways in late 2017. In the short time since Jamerson has pulled up his sleeves, writing and touring relentlessly across the United States as he works to craft the next chapter in his musical journey.
