LEXINGTON, Ky. — Genre-bending Lexington-based indie cooperative Wicked Peace are back at their quirky ways as they continue to push boundaries and revolutionize the music video game with the latest mash-up “Ur Welcome,” out today.

The trippy video features expertly crafted face swaps of John Tanner Blevins (guitar/vocals) and Amanda Turner (vocals) – the brother-sister tag team duo leading Wicked Peace – with their canine companions as Turner scoffingly sings about a past fling in which she built up the confidence of someone with a fractured confidence only to see themselves get pushed to the wayside once they got the pep back in their step, leading her to sarcastically exclaim “All your confidence / I gave you that / Your elegance / I gave you that / You were a mess and I fixed that / Ur welcome.”

The song, officially released Oct. 11, shines a brand new light on the eclectic and ever-evolving sound of Wicked Peace as it takes on poppy aesthetic with synth heavy tones backed by a funky old-school bass line from Jared “Hippie” Davis, splashes of auto-tuned vocals and capped by a mini freestyle rap from Blevins. Rounding out the group are Matt Holleran on drums and Patrick Brumback on guitar.

The video for the standalone single was engineered, mixed and mastered by Brumback and Blevins at the band’s own Butchwood Studios in association with Cherrymoon Media. Watch it below.

Wicked Peace’s next proper Lexington gig will be at the renovated Al’s Bar on Nov. 23 with OTTO (Helmuth) and Whalerus. For more on the band visit
