LEXINGTON, Ky. — Asheville, North Carolina psychedelic rock ‘n rollers Andrew Scotchie & The River Rats hopped into the studio on Jan. 24 for a special edition of Wick’s Picks on Lexington Community Radio. The band made their Lexington debut later in the evening at Best Friend Bar.

On the show the band discusses getting their start busking on the streets of Asheville, working through improvisation as a power rock trio, the decade old, Scotchie-hosted festival Asheville Barnaroo, life as road warriors and much more. We also listened to “Who Put The Hurtin’ On You” and “Family Dynamo” off their most recent album of the same name. The band also performed live and unplugged versions of “Never Alone” and unrecorded original “Natural Romantic.”

Listen to an archive of the show below.

Tune in next Monday as Wick’s Picks returns to its normal time of 9-11 a.m. with singer-songwriters Eric Bolander and Jory Bowling. Find Lexington Community Radio on the dial at 93.9 FM-WLXU or online at lexingtoncommunityradio.org.
