By Matt Wickstrom

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Wick’s Picks returned following an off week and the celebration of Labor Day with guests Michael Tyree, Jared Lee and Andrew Hibbard joining the program.

First up was Michael Tyree. The singer-songwriter discusses his musical upbringing and evolution that has recently forayed into a solo endeavor for which he’ll be releasing an acoustic debut Sin Eater this Fall. Listen to Tyree from the 0:00-41: 25-minute mark and catch him on Friday, September 14 at Best Friend Bar.

Following Tyree was Jared Lee of Dead Audio Blog and Expansion Festival to discuss his background as a local music advocate, show organizer and promoter along with the inspiration and details behind the inaugural psychedelic rock fest to be held this Friday and Saturday at Al’s Bar and The Burl. Listen to Lee from the 41:25-1:25:27-minute mark.

Rounding out the program was singer-songwriter Andrew Hibbard. The Southwestern Ohio bred songsmith discusses his musical background, upcoming record (which was recorded inside a friend’s barn), his appearance tomorrow evening on Red Barn Radio and more. Listen to Hibbard from the 1:25:27-1:58:39-minute mark.

Listen to a full archive of this week’s show below.

Tune in live to Wick’s Picks on Lexington Community Radio every Monday from 9-11 on the dial at 93.9 FM and online at lexingtoncommunityradio.org. Next week I’ll be joined by two Kentucky bands celebrating the release of new albums, NewTown and Wayne Graham, on September 17.
