LEXINGTON, Ky. (August 6, 2018) –  This morning Los Angeles based singer-songwriter Pearl Charles, Kyle Ayres and Blake Hester of Buck the Taxidermist and Dusty Wesley and Haley Perros of Kentucky Music Preview joined host Matt Wickstrom for Wick’s Picks on Lexington Community Radio.

First up were the fellas from Buck the Taxidermist to discuss their recently released self-titled EP, their musical backgrounds and friendship that extends back to childhood, upcoming projects and more. The duo also performed a stripped-down version of “Kitchen Table” off the EP along with an unreleased tune called “Made for Greatness.”

Ayres and Hester were followed by Kentucky Music Preview’s Wesley and Perros to discuss their podcast and local music advocacy efforts, what sparked their passion for music, their KYMP Presents music series in Danville (which begins this Thursday with Grayson Jenkins) and much more.

Rounding out the show was Pearl Charles, who stopped in to chat about her musical upbringing in L.A., new album Sleepless Dreamer and more ahead of her performance later in the evening in Lexington at Best Friend Bar with Johnny Conqueroo and Helicoid. Charles also performed two songs off the new record — “Sleepless Dreamer” and “Long Hair.”
