LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 25, 2018) – In conjunction with today’s release of their debut EP, Lexington’s Magnolia Boulevard has revealed the project’s first single “Ride.” Listen below.

The song was one of the band’s first original tunes. According to keyboard player Ryan Allen, the song first sprouted from a guitar lick from the band’s Gregg Erwin before Allen added his own lyrics to the mix.

“Gregg [Erwin] actually had that intro lick for a long time. it was apparently the first thing him and Todd [Copeland] ever played together when they met,” said Allen. “When the band got together, it was one of the first things we played. We just kind of jammed on it for a while and recorded it.”

“I wrote the lyrics about my girlfriend getting me through a tough time back when we first met. We had just started hanging out and nothing was really serious yet. It’s really just about how getting through hard times is a lot easier if you have someone you can depend on. If you put something in your pocket, you can count on it being there, and if you know someone cares about you, it makes it easier to ride out a rough patch.”

Magnolia Boulevard is comprised of Maggie Noelle on lead vocals, Gregg Erwin on lead guitar, Ryan Allen on keys, Todd Copeland on drums and John Roberts on bass.

The group performs tonight (May 25) at The Burl in celebration of their EP release with Joslyn & The Sweet Compression and Zach Longoria Project.
