OWENSBORO, Ky. (March 28, 2018) – ROMP Fest has unveiled the late night shows for it’s 15th annual gathering from June 27-30, led by fiery mandolin picker Jeff Austin and his band of misfits and 80’s bluegrass cover kings Love Canon, playing Friday, June 29, and Saturday, June 30, respectively.
Rounding out ROMP’s late night festivities, sponsored by Jagoe Homes, are a co-headlining effort from Fireside Collective and Pert Near Sandstone on Thursday, June 28.
ROMP’s late night shows tend to be rowdy. Isolated from the main festival grounds, late night performances take place at Yellow Creek Park’s Pioneer Village, located across a bridge and up a meandering path near the rear of the park’s campgrounds, eventually opening into a small enclosure with a cabin that plays home to the festival’s late night performers.
In recent years artists such as Jon Stickley Trio, The Wooks and Billy Strings have performed ROMP late night sets. Take a look back at Billy Strings’ raging set from ROMP 2017 below.
In addition to ROMP’s roster of late night artists the festival will feature Alison Krauss, Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder; Sam Bush, Travelin’ McCourys, Leftover Salmon, Parker Millsap, Rhiannon Giddens, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, We Banjo 3, Michael Daves featuring Tony Trischka; Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out; Robbie Fulks, Phoebe Hunt & the Gatherers; The Po’ Ramblin’ Boys, The Barefoot Movement and Hank, Pattie & The Current; Sheriff Scott & the Deputies; Mile Twelve, and the Kentucky Bluegrass Allstars.
ROMP will soon be revealing the festival’s hourly schedules, yoga schedules, kids’ activities, food and craft vendors and more. For more information visit rompfest.com.
