North Carolina’s Violet Bell make their way to the Woodsongs stage next week.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 16, 2018) – Traditional Scottish ballads and gypsy blues by way of North Carolina take center stage on the March 19 edition of Woodsongs Old-Time Radio Hour when Skerryvore and Violet Bell invade the stage at the historic Lyric Theatre.

Skerryvore have twice won Scotland’s Traditional Music’s ‘Live Act of the Year’ Award. The band has been on a meteoric journey that has taken them from the remote Isle of Tiree on to international tours performing in over 25 countries worldwide. The band is about to release their 6th studio album this summer.

Violet Bell weaves the gypsy, blues, and soul duo of Lizzy Ross and Omar Ruiz-Lopez, who have played over 200 shows since forming in March 2016. The North Carolina duo’s outreach efforts include teaching workshops to community and youth orchestras in their home state and beyond, and collaborating with youth and community musicians whenever possible. Their 2017 debut is Dream the Wheel.
