Wick’s Picks: Magnolia Boulevard LIVE in studio (1/31/18)

By Matt Wickstrom

Earlier this week Maggie Noelle, Gregg Erwin and Ryan Allen of Lexington rock/blues/soul/funk group Magnolia Bouklevard joined me in studio for Wick’s Picks to chat about the band’s upcoming one-year anniversary and accomplishments thus far; collaborations with Shaker Steps and Duane Lundy of Shangri-la Productions, summer plans and much more.

The show also includes an intimate set by Magnolia Boulevard that includes performances of originals “Jezebel,” “Sister,” “Ride” and more. The set features Maggie Noelle on vocals and guitar, Gregg Erwin on lead guitar and Ryan Allen, normally on keyboards with the band, also on guitar.

Listen to an archive of this week’s show below along with video of their performance earlier this week on Red Barn Radio.

For more information on Magnolia Boulevard read my feature from last summer on the band in the Lexington Herald-Leader and visit their official web site for tour dates and more.

Tune into Wick’s PicksĀ  on 93.9 WLXU Lexington Community Radio next Wednesday, Feb. 7 from 9-10 a.m. for an interview and performance from Grayson Jenkins, Wes Smith (of Brother Smith) and Ryan Allen ahead of their shows in Central Kentucky next week. You can find out more about those shows and others happening next week on Saturday when our live menu for Feb. 4-10 drops. Look at this week’s menu for last minute plans for this weekend.
