London’s Madison Lewis releases “Back to the Blue”

LONDON, Ky. (Sept. 13, 2017) – Fourteen-year-old Madison Lewis, a female independent Americana musician and songwriter based out of London, Ky., releases her highly-anticipated debut album, Back to the Blue, on Sept. 22nd, 2017. Produced by music industry veteran and accomplished music teacher, Ken Holbrook, and featuring additional musical support by renowned musicians like Michito Sanchez on percussion, Daniel Carwile on violin, Steve Bryant on electric bass, and Todd Phillips on upright bass, Back to the Blue is a stand-out representation of the life of a young woman who has been exposed to musical influences and experiences well beyond her years – and her geographical location. Being compared to artists such as Tom Waits and Amy Winehouse, she undoubtedly has an old soul.

“After listening to the final mixes of this project, I had the realization that I was listening to the beginning of a something really special – a cross between Joni Mitchell and John Prine,” said Holbrook. “The level of musical sophistication that Madison possesses at the ripe old age of 14 is just plain baffling. 30 years as a professional musician have not prepared me for my encounter with her…”

Lewis is no stranger to the spotlight, either. She has performed at many different kinds of venues already (including the Lyric Theatre in Lexington, Ky. for the Woodsongs Old-Time Radio Hour, the legendary Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, Tn., the Master Musicians Festival in Somerset, Ky., and both Eddie’s Attic and Grocery on Home in Atlanta, Ga.). She will continue touring through mid-Dec. and beyond in support of Back to the Blue, including a Dec. 14 show in Lexington opening for Billy Strings at The Burl. Lewis was also featured on KET’s Emmy award-winning show, The Local Traveler.
